Week 1

Aug 27

An article appears in the daily prophet announcing that Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger are missing.

Meanwhile, Kevin Entwhistle visits Flourish & Blots to buy his school books. While there, he runs into Lila Moon, or rather, she runs into him, and Anthony Goldstein shows up to discuss returning to school.

Aug 28

Uriel causes a disturbance and Mandy Brocklehurst decides to help clean up. She and Julian Spinks have an awkward conversation.

Aug 30

Ent makes an entrance at the Leaky Cauldron as Julian tries to admire his purchases in peace, so the boys exchange words as much as one can in a crowded pub. That’s okay though, Ent says he’ll see Julian at school and leaves him to wonder if that was a threat or not.

Sept 1

The prophet reports Princess Diana’s death.

Lila gets caught sneaking off to Hogwarts by her father, causing a spectacle on the platform. Ultimately she gets to go, but her father tells her not to return home.

Kevin causes confusion among the aurors with his radio and they think he is a dark wizard. In an act of desperation he calls out to Julian, who is no help in his opinion and his least favorite person shows up to save the day, Luna Lovegood. He stalks off, and Luna keeps the radio.

The train ride was uneventful.

Julian ends up sharing a carriage with Lydia, er, Lila on the ride up to the castle. After Lila breaks the awkward silence, both stereotype each other before realizing neither is what they seem to be.

McGonagall gives her first speech as Hogwart's new Headmistress.

After the feast, Luna discovers her book of yuk fairytales to be missing. She asks about it in the common room, only to be shot down by Kevin.
